A grom or grommet isn't necessarily a beginner surfer but a YOUNG surfer... usually under the age of 15. Most of the time people that are called groms are youngins who can rip (who are good) This collection is created for kids,  by kids.  All of the artwork is original and created by one of the 4 groms.
